Let’s push back the darkness! Happy Hanukkah

Dears friends,

The staff and children of the Negba association were very moved to see, last week, the kidnapped children and people return home, in Israel. Everyone prays for the safe return of the other hostages and IDF soldiers!

It is customary to tell the story of the Maccabees and the victory of the Hasmoneans over the Greeks at Hanukkah. A story that teaches us perseverance, faith and strength. So, every year we celebrate our victory over darkness.

This year, after a great darkness fell upon our people, we came together, and we hope to be stronger than ever. It is with great pride that we will light the Hanukkah lights for eight days and sing and pray until the victory of the State of Israel and the Jewish people over our enemy.

For several weeks, the Negba team has been working at full speed and doing everything possible to support each child and adolescent in this difficult period, on all levels: social, emotional, educational…

In a few days, we will gather to celebrate Hanukkah. Unlike any year, rockets falling in Beer Sheva prevents us from celebrating the holiday together. Therefore, each group of children, adolescents, and their team will gather in their own protected space to light the Hanukkah candles and thus close the various volunteer projects that their group has carried out on the theme: “Pass light on to your neighbour”.

We wish you a very happy Hanukkah holiday! May this holiday fill your homes with joy, health, peace and light!

Good news for everyone,

The Negba teams
