School for parents

The parents are our primary and most significant collaborators in Negba

In order to empower the parents and assist them when dealing with the many challenges they meet around their family life and child raise, Negba is hosting workshops for parental guidance that among other things, deals with how to communicate better with the child or adolescent, marking boundaries, containing, coping with frustration, crises, and more.

During the past month, we hosted a number of workshops out of 10 in total, all guided by qualified instructors from Beer Shevas parental school with an impressive parental attendance – all thanks of the personalized and persistence work of the Negba team.

The collaboration with the parental school started with a meeting, at which we discussed about the essence of the group and its goals, coordinated expectations and a discussion about future possible challenges.

The first class started by an acquaintance meeting for the parents to understand and be impressed with the workshops.

We had the pleasure to host Eti – a senior, experienced and professional instructor, with an experience with the Beer sheva population in general, and neighborhood D in particular.

20 parents attended to the first workshop, all with willingness to continue.

Among the topics:

Family atmosphere, the parental role, the ability to mediate between parent and child needs and the quality of attention. The next workshop will focus on parental authority and how to set boundaries.

The parents are attending and are willing to share from their life experience, raising questions and dilemmas and most importantly – apply what they learn at home.
