Spring has arrived and Passover is in Negba’s Homes!

“You shall tell your son on that day, saying: For this is what the Lord did to me when I came out of Egypt.” (Exodus, chapter 13, verse 8)

The sun is starting to reappear, you can smell the scent of flowers in the air, no doubt: Passover has arrived!

Just before the spring break, we have, as tradition requires, cleaned all the premises and also removed all the breadcrumbs. We also held a real Passover Seder in each Home, with all the blessings, traditional foods and of course we told the story of the Haggadah. The wonderful songs of the holiday were heard around the table. The atmosphere was warm, and the pleasure of the coming vacation warmed hearts.

Nathalie, 9 years old: “What I liked the most was singing the song ‘Who knows?’ I can sing the whole song without making a mistake! The Passover Seder that we did with the whole group and my leaders was a real treat.”

What else?

Just before going on vacation, we took advantage of the pleasant weather, and organized outside crafts and educational workshops. We decorated mugs in honor of Elijah the Prophet and learned how to make matzah (unleavened bread). Dressed in our cooking aprons, we prepared, mixed and kneaded all the ingredients and cooked the matzot, all in the same day. Result: we licked our fingers!
