The day of good deeds

Since it is important for the Negba teams to teach children to do good deeds throughout the year, it made sense for the teens to participate in the National Good Deeds Day.

So, In Beersheva, the teenagers left to renovate, repair and plant for the benefit of the community across the city. It was a very intense activity where everyone gave the best of themselves and which will remain for a long time, in the hearts of young boys and girls, a stimulating and very moving experience.

A moving action by the group of teenagers “H’etz” – Delphine Lévy of Jerusalem

For the National Day of Good Deeds, we discussed with the teen group “Shaked” to find what action to take.

We started the day with a rather sad conversation, as we talked about the passing of a young girl named Shahar. Shahar lived in our neighborhood, and studied in elementary school with several teenage girls from the group. Sadly, she died earlier this week from cancer. The young people shared their memories, talked about her and her fight against the disease…

Then the teens concluded that they were going to make small candy packs for the hospital patients to bring them some joy.

Following the discussion at the start of the day, the group asked to dedicate this action in memory of Shahar. So the young people added her name to each pack, and together we decided to donate them to the oncology department at Shaarei Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem.

“It was really very moving to see the young people preparing packs and blessing for healing in memory of their friend,” says Sari, the leader of the teenage group “H’etz” – Delphine Lévy from Jerusalem. “They were able to use their pain to make up something good and positive, and to bring some joy to other sick children as well.”
