The war period brought many challenges to the Negba association in addition to the familiar challenges faced by the population we work with. Daily feelings of anxiety and stress, fear, uncertainty, lack of control and other feelings can overwhelm and deplete parents’ mental resources and affect children and adolescents.
From this need was born this resilience program of various workshops, designed to help children, parents and Negba staff acquire the tools and skills that will help them best manage all kinds of emotions and difficulties specific to this period.
After building a professional and precise plan, the program was launched a few weeks ago. We held meetings on social skills, during which the team received, among other things, practical tips to apply in the field and an orientation kit adapted to the age of the children.
Before starting the work with the children, a meeting was held with the parents to present and reveal the plan in order to recruit them for the process. After a personal conversation with each parent, personal meetings with the young people could begin.
The teen group began a series of four meetings with a nutritionist covering nutrition and emotional eating. Topics covered include mindful eating, fast eating, hidden hunger, balanced eating, and much more.
We continued the workshops with therapeutic kennel class.
At the same time, we launched the “The Star in Me” program which deals with the empowerment of our young people and the strengthening of self-confidence, under the direction of Yael Shohat -an organizational consultant and other professionals from ICL: a large Israeli company.
All this is just the beginning, and many projects are awaiting us!
We would like to thank all the people who make this very important and significant program possible: The Rothschild Foundation and our dear donors, those who honored us with their presence and gave generously during the Negba Evening organized in France in December 2023.
Thank you all for recognizing the importance of the program and joining in its implementation. We appreciate your great contribution!
