{"id":849,"date":"2018-05-16T17:09:49","date_gmt":"2018-05-16T15:09:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/negba.org\/negba2018\/?p=849"},"modified":"2018-05-16T17:09:49","modified_gmt":"2018-05-16T15:09:49","slug":"a-childs-best-friend-animal-assisted-therapy-workshop-at-negba","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/negba.org\/negba2018\/en\/2018\/05\/16\/a-childs-best-friend-animal-assisted-therapy-workshop-at-negba\/","title":{"rendered":"A Child\u2019s Best Friend: Animal Assisted Therapy Workshop at Negba"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Negba\u2019s integrated approach to advance the children in its care utilizes a variety of methods and techniques.\u00a0 Once a week, a group of kids ages 7-9 from Negba\u2019s Franck Levy After-School Home in Beersheva attend an Animal Assisted Therapy workshop, aimed at strengthening their social and emotional development. \u00a0The children interact with and care for rabbits, snakes, birds and other animals through a cooperative project with the City of Beersheva.<!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt\u2019s so much fun to play with the animals,\u201d said Yahav, 7.\u00a0 \u201cI love their soft touch, and to hold and pet them.
