singing.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/negba.org\/negba2018\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/T-and-A-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2711\" width=\"512\" height=\"341\" srcset=\"https:\/\/negba.org\/negba2018\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/T-and-A.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/negba.org\/negba2018\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/T-and-A-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/negba.org\/negba2018\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/T-and-A-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><figcaption><em>From left to right : Hodaya, one of the teen club counselor, Giselle Elalouf, Tahir, Meral Maor and Adir.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Their musical journey commenced last year when Negba began offering a music empowerment seminar to Negba\u2019s youth introducing them to formal concepts in vocal and instrumental music.\u00a0 The seminar led to the formation of Negba\u2019s Teen Band, and Tahir and Adir became members, singing duets together at some of the band\u2019s performances.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSinging in the seminar and in the band helped me to become so much more confident,\u201d reflected Adir\u00a0 \u201cI began to feel comfortable in front of people.\u00a0 \u201cIt didn\u2019t matter whether I knew them or not.\u00a0 Singing allowed me to feel sure of myself.\u201d\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adir and Tahir enjoyed the music program so much, that Adir suggested to seminar instructor Meral Maor they record a song together, and even write one of their own.\u00a0 Adir and Tahir recently recorded a cover clip of Israeli singer Benaia Barabi\u2019s song, \u201c<em>Tafasta li Makom.<\/em>\u201d\u00a0 And they are now working with Meral to write the lyrics of their own song, which they expect to record later this year. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRecording the clip allowed us to express our growing talent and put it into practice,\u201d said Tahir\u00a0 \u201cThe experience was so much fun, and we learned how to sing at our best.\u00a0 I feel like I\u2019ve grown so much through the music program.\u00a0 It will definitely help me in the future, in whatever I do.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center;
