We are happy to update that thanks to a generous budget from the Ministry of the Development of the Negev and the Be’er Sheva Municipality, who accompanied us throughout the project, we were able to fundamentally renovate Schili House and prepare it as a pleasant and innovative home for Negev children!
The house plan was redesigned so that after construction, two separate spaces were possible for two groups of 15 children, as well as new flooring, study corners equipped with tables, chairs, shelves, and computers.
The kitchen, which has also been rebuilt, is equipped with all the necessary equipment, including a state-of-the-art refrigerator and dishwasher in order for easy preparation and clean-up of delicious and nutritious meals every day.
The yard has been renewed with synthetic grass along with shade for the hot days which will allow children a safe and cozy space for yard games. In another part of the yard, an irrigation system was installed, trees were planted, flower beds and herbs were prepared and a wooden seating area was built.
The wonderful children were undoubtedly excited to have their second home rebuilt and refurbished, so that they can come every day with huge smiles on their faces!
