07/30/2017 - Beersheva Mayor Scores a Goal for Negba’s Children, Recognizes Importance of the Future Negba Center

Demonstrating peak fitness, Beersheva Mayor Ruvik Danilovich scored a decisive goal and assisted on another as captain of the Negba children’s squad in a friendly soccer match against Negba parents at the Goaltime soccer field in Beersheva. Held in cooperation with the Beersheva Municipality, the game aimed to promote Negba’s activities and raise awareness about the organization across the community.

Scores of Negba children, parents and friends cheered on throughout the exciting match, along with Israel’s Sports Channel’s Nadav Ya’acobi, Israel Radio’s Shimon Elkabetz, TV Channel 10’s Almog Boker, Negba CEO Hanna Geissmann and Negba board members. Hapoel Beersheva soccer legend Avraham Nome handed out trophies to the winners at the conclusion of the game.

In honor of the festive game, Mayor Danilovich announced that the Beersheva Municipality would invest NIS 2 million in landscaping development of the area surrounding the future Negba After-School Center for Children At-Risk in Beersheva, slated for completion in early 2018. The Beersheva Municipality allocated a plot of land to Negba for the Center, and works closely with Negba on its overall program, most notably on projects for excellence.

The future Negba Center, a 1,478 sq. meter two-storey building in the Dalet neighborhood, will provide a vital permanent location for 5 after-school homes andclubs for children and teens, will facilitate Negba’s educational and administrative service provision and improve supportive services across the organization.
